UPSC NDA application form 2017, The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts this NDA examination 2 time in a year. NDA I is being held for getting admission in the Navy , Army and Air Force wings of NDA for 139th course, and 101th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). Eligibility Criteria for UPSC NDA application form 2017:-

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mere issue of Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.

Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for interview/Personality Test.

Age limit –

In order to appear in NDA (I) 2017, the candidate is born between 02.07.1998 and 01.07.2001. For the purpose of NDA (II) 2017, the candidate is born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2002.

Qualification for UPSC NDA application form 2017

Army Wing of National Defence Academy —12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy —12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Application Fee – UPSC NDA application form 2017

Candidates have to pay a fee = Rs. 100/-

Either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank ofMysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/MasterCard Credit/Debit Card.

SC/ST candidates/Sons of JCOs/NCOs/ORs are exempted from payment of a fee.

“Pay by Cash” mode option will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 09.02.2017 i.e. one day before the closing date;

Syllabus – NDA Exam

PAPER I MATHEMATICS (Code No.1) (Max Marks-300)

  6. Integral Calculus and Differential Equations
  7. Vector Algebra
  8. Statistics and Probability


  • PART A – English
  • PART B – General Knowledge
  • A SECTION – Physics
  • B SECTION – Chemistry
  • C-SECTION – General Sciences
  • D SECTION – History, Freedom Movements
  • E SECTION – Geography
  • F SECTION – Current Affairs

Questions on Section A B C D E and F will carry 25%, 15%,10%, 20%,20%,and 10% weight. There will be negative marking for the incorrect response given by candidates.

After the NDA exam the SSB interview comprising of two stages i.e. stage I and stage II.

The stage (I) will consist of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP & DT).

The stage (II) will comprise of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests will be organized over 4 or 5 days. The entire process will carry 900 marks.

NDA Exams focuses mainly on English, General Knowledge, and Mathematics.

Question paper includes equations and questions related to subjects listed above.

UPSC NDA  2017 Examination Centers –

The Examination will be held at the following Centers –

Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata,
Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Udaipur, and Vishakhapatnam.

Applicants should note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the centers except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur. Allotment of Centers would on the first-apply-first-allot basis and once the capacity of a particular center is attained.

Applicants, who cannot get a center of their choice due to ceiling, are required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones. Applicants are, thus, advised that they may apply early so that they could get a Centre of their choice.

N.B. : Notwithstanding the aforesaid provision, Commission reserves the right to change the Centres at their discretion if the situation demands. Candidates admitted to the examination will be informed of the time table and place or places of examination. Candidates should note that no request for change of center will be granted.
